Hey Russell,

I believe you are referring to SonicWall's SSL VPN solution.[1]
Probably that is the reason why they are acquiring Aventail.[2] See if you can check Aventail's solutions instead.
Here are some other products that you could look at:
1. Array Networks (known for high performance)
2. Checkpoint Connectra
3. Microsoft IAG
4. Juniper
5. F5
6. AEP Networks

Some features compared here: http://www.windowsitpro.com/Files/45612/BGuide_0504_win_lov.pdf

Are there better solutions? Yes. Unfortunately "you gotta do what you gotta
do" sometimes. We try to make the employees bring in the remote PCs on a
regular basis for checkups, but this is not always realistic (i.e. people
are stubborn :-) ).

On a related note, does anyone have reccomendations for a good SSL VPN
appliance? We have been testing the Sonicwall appliance in house and it has
been less than impressive so far.
