VMware works well, with an eye towards money however Microsoft makes  
Virtual PC available for free from their website and it works equally  
well for a lab setup.

Here's how we set our testing lab up, if you're in a shared  
environment make sure any uplinks to the greater network are  
unplugged before you start your testing.
