Hi

From memory IronPort based AsyncOS on a BSD kernel but then rewrote 
parts on it that deal with threads and memory access as well as the MTA.

You are correct about their AV, it is OEM'ed sophos.

Their anti-spam is based on a relevance engine that is written in house 
and incorporates Symantec BrightMail (for the moment).
