If you're looking to learn a little while in the process of your
masquerading efforts download Security Cloak from Craig Heffner
http://www.craigheffner.com/security/sec_cloak.zip Read through the source
included in the file and then try using netsh on your windows box to play
with the different settings. You can google for tcpoptimizer as well for
some overview on what the different settings will do to your machine's
performance.

Subject: Masquerade windows as linux

Hello pen-testers,

I was wondering what are the required changes to the TCP/IP stack to make
nmap report the OS as Linux instead of Windows. A simple example would be to
changing the TTL value from the default windows 128 to 64 through the
registry.

Any other accessible ideas?

Thanks in advance!
