Why not just installing a well-kown sniffer (Ethereal for Win boxes or tcpdump for nix boxes for instance), and filter 
the  output of the sniffer on the port you want to monitor ? Then you will have all the incoming traffic on the 
requested port on your DB server ...

Hi Pals,

What tools can enable me listen to all traffics destined to a particular port on my database server for the purpose of 
monitoring changes to my database tables. My database server is on a different VLAN from my PC.
