Greetings I would suggest trying mpentoo.I is easy to maintain and easy to customise. I run around with one minidisc in my wallet.Additionnal modules and the such can go to the USB .So actually withou resorting to modules you can install programs into you're USB and have them ready on start up.If you need help with it let me know. For Gentoo in general there is also :http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/releng/catalyst/ LFS is maybe the best on the long run but it is rather hard to work with specially if you have some time constraint and little knowledge of linux systems in general(but it is a great learning instrument too). I would not go with debian in general for live CD but that is a bias personnal opinion. On 21 Apr 2006 05:00:46 -0000, Hank () baitntackle com <Hank () baitntackle com> wrote:
Hey Guys, I'm looking to create my own pentesting distro.. I really like BackTrack and Auditor but would like to fill in the gaps adding some tools for VoIP and App Testing.. I have played with about every distro so far- Knoppix Kanotix Whax LInux Fire WAR Linux Slax - Kill Bill Slax - Frodo Ubuntu Linspire So far I'm would really like to stick with debian based distros for my distro. Would it be best to start with something like Kanotix and remaster it?? Or just start from scrath with debain and compile cloop and unionFS? The only thing is that I see that Slax uses modules and has an easy to use remastering system. I'm looking for Pros/ Cons of starting from scratch vs. just modifying another distro. I have used linux for a couple years and can get around pretty well but no expert.
