Re: nmap showing port 21 (ftp) open, but port is actually closed

Are you scanning through a NAT device (or whatever) that has ftp enabled? 
I've seen different scanners behave similarly by reporting what 
ports/services are in use on the NAT device itself when a client scans an 
external host through it...
