The OpenInfreno Team (http://openinfreno.sf.net) is proud to present
Betarun 2005, for folks interested in playing the game (similar to the
game played at Toorcon last year.) There are no prizes for the winning
team (and we do not charge a fee for entry or participation,) but we
will post the winners on our OpenInfreno site for all to see. Betarun
2005 will be held this year in the auditorium at the San Diego
Super-Computer Center (SDSC) at UCSD on Saturday, May 21st, 2005.
Check-in and setup is at 11:30 am, and the game starts at noon and runs
until 5:00 pm. Parking is free on campus on Saturday (we'll contact
each individual or team and provide them with further information as the
day approaches, provided they provide us with real contact information.)

Individuals and teams can register to participate via the online form at
http://openinfreno.sf.net/rsvp.html. We do not sell or distribute any
information we receive via the registration process, and we do not
require your real name (a pseudonym is perfectly acceptible, but please
provide a working email address we can reach you at.) Teams must have
three or more participants, and individuals who register will get an
opportunity to join a pre-existing team or start their own team on the
day of the event. We ask that those who wish to play register ahead of
time so that we can plan on what sort of participation we are going to
see. Walk-ins are welcome, though we appreciate those interested in
playing to register ahead of time. Spectators are welcome too and do
not need to register. Because SDSC is providing the facility, they may
limit access to the event due to health and safety regulations, but the
OpenInfreno team does not discriminate and event participation is open
to anyone (except those who are on the OpenInfreno development team or
those who have been banned due to cheating in previous events.)

Bring your own network devices as we will not provide anything beyond a
connection to the game network. Rules are available at
http://openinfreno.sf.net.
