Keystroke logging goes beyond simple commands history. 

.history won't tell you username/passwords entered, web sites visited, etc. 

While it is usefull to know what commands were run, a keylogger would also be able to provide that information, and a 
lot more.

No need for a keystroke logger simply run

cat $HOME/.history > commandsrun.txt
