I recently returned from Blackhat 2005 in Las Vegas. The last BH I had attended was in 2001 so I was unsure about the quality to expect at this one. While I did not get to as many tracks as I would have liked I did find that ones I made it to were excellent. You can view the content at:

This may not beat going in person but its still some very good material.

One talk in particular I attended which I really enjoyed was given by Roelof Temmingh of Sensepost and is definitely worth taking a look at. In his talk he went over their tool BiDiBLAH and the methodology it uses when assessing a network. Very interesting tool and possibly the most comprehensive footprinting system for pen-testing I've ever seen.
