try... nmap -vv -sS -O ip/fqdn there is also available for windows... just remember... it is possible to change the banner of a service so as to masquerade as a different OS... also you might be interested "http://www.packetstormsecurity.nl/filedesc/amap-2.1.tar.html" although this one tells you the what service is running on a port __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
