We block it because it uses a level of authentication that is less that what
we roll out to corporate users. Nothing personal....

Rick,

We've blocked & set policies accordingly for Gotomypc &
remotelyAnywhere/logmein in our infrastructure. House consel voiced concerns
about proprietary information security.

However, if I understand your email correctly your internal users are
reaching out to other machines in a support capacity. We have this issue and
overcome this by getting a bomgar B100 device which works exactly like
gotomypc but is totally under our control. Of course one needs to provide a
wan facing ip address with tcp 80 & 443 ports.

$.02 deposited.

I wanted to get consensus on the thoughts on
allowing access to GoToMyPC, GoToAssist, etc.for internal
users to an external entity. Are the majority of you
blocking these? If so, what are your concerns specifically
with GoToMyPC. I understand the whole circumventing web
content filtering argument, but was really hoping for
something more than some corporate opposition to porn.

What would be the concerns raised with GoToAssist?
