Metasploit beginner

Hi All,

I started to play with metasploit this weekend and actually sit down to
learn how to work it.

I set up a lab environment and was able to create an "evil" exe that would
connect back to my generic handler. This took some time to really understand
and get it to work, but now I got that piece. I was starting to explore the
msfencode method and couldn't get it to correctly encode a RAW output from
the msfpayload method. All the examples I found where for linux environments
where I could pipe data into msfencode. I'm using a windows box and was
having a hard time trying to get this to work. Can someone help with some
windows examples? As well any good resources I should be looking at for
Metasploit? And I know, I know, I'll get to testing it under a linux box
also, I have BT3 and 4 just didnt have them handy for the lab I was setting
up at the time.
