Agree - It has been my experience that beyond the initial encryption
and auth to gain access - We have not seen any additional overhead
with WDE on tradiitional drives

I also am not sure how well the WDE would work in terms of the writing of
data to disk since the SSD can only do so many writes? Does the SSD have
to
to larger / more frequent writes since it is encrypted?

I have no clue about this.

I have a Acer Aspire One with the 160 GB drive - and I think it is pretty
awesome. I think it was the best deal at the time, but this has probably
changed since then...

Let us know what you find out!

I wonder what the overhead would be in terms of size since its usually
limited storage.

I'm getting a netbook and I was curious if anyone had experience with
whole disk encryption on solid state drives.
Thanks.
