I wonder if we should start a thread in the forums with the places people
have stayed and rough price from last year. this would give everyone a nice
list of places to stay, we could do it for many conventions such as this and
make what would be a virtual what's what for the areas around the
conventions.

Just a thought :)

I was really hoping to make it this year (haven't made one yet),
however there's no money in the budget for me to travel this year. If
I'm going to self-fund this one anyone have good ESP doing this on the
cheap? I know it's DC...

I'm paying for myself to come over from the UK.

B&B is cheaper than the hotel, eh? Good to know. I'm footing my own
bill too and looked at some hostel options in the area. There are some
really cheap places to stay if you don't mind the dormitory style
arrangements. In the end, I opted for a shorter trip, arriving in the
afternoon on Friday and leaving in the afternoon on Sunday. Next year,
I'll extend it by a day and maybe convince my work to split the costs.

I'm staying in a $89/night place I stayed at last year. Nice place,
very good breakfast and only 10 mins walk from the hotel.

I did the short trip option to Toorcon, flew in on Thursday afternoon
and left Monday morning. It was a long way for such a short time but
saved cash and I did the site seeing I wanted to. I'll maybe extend it
a day next year and go to Mexico for a day trip.
