The people involved agree after-the-fact to the airing of those things. No such thing happened here at all.
What's more, with the pitchfork way this incident is being responded to, future researchers may choose to operate more stealthily; no more mailings from an edu mail address, more elaborate internet avatars (did we ever prove who George Spelvin was?)
Those who need to know, know who "George Spelvin" is, that is not an issue. greg k-h
