installshield vs zip nmap

hello again


sorry with this question if it seems silly. i have always d/l nmap and used the zip version. that way, when i see a new 
update, i just go in and replace the files i see that are newer and not have to touch the rest that were not changed. 
is there really any advantage to those that d/l and install it via the "wizard"? it is all the same program, correct? 
just had me wondering is all
