Need help

I would like to add port 5985  to well know port list of nmap. I found two
below options:

1) Specify all the scanned ports  with the -p option.

2) Add the 5985 port to the nmap-services file.



The second option is not recommended , and I still did not find any
instructions on what the best practice on editing  the nmap-services file.
Could you please let me know if there is any other way to do this.
