A reminder for the same. I would be grateful if anyone can guide me in this. Should I directly submit my proposal on the page? Thanks, Mridul Malpotra On 16 March 2014 13:41, Mridul Malpotra <mridul.malpotra () gmail com> wrote:Hi! I am an undergraduate student doing my B.Tech in Computer Science from IIITD. I have been using Nmap for quite a few months and would really want to be a part of the developing alongside you guys. The NSE looks really promising for developing scripts and testing them out. I have an interest in the Script Developers roles and would really be happy to contribute in finding vulnerabilities and preventing exploitation in the same. Apart from the standard languages knowledge of C, C++, Java, Python, Javascript and HTML, I am also learning Lua and researching upon SQL Injection and XSS. I had contributed in the Local Moodle Server setup for our institute, and am also writing a monitoring system application through SNMP for our institute's IT department and have a good sense about network security and monitoring. I really want to contribute to NMap and GSoC will give me an opportunity to showcase the same. Hence I request the mentor to guide me regarding the same. I'm working on my rough draft of the proposal and would provide you with the details. Just tell me how should I approach you. Thanks guys! Hello Mridul, The mailing list is generally rather quiet during this stage of Google Summer of Code, don't feel discouraged ;) From what I noticed while watching and in participating in last year's GSoC, it's best to show some idea of what you're planning to do when you apply for the specialist assignments. As for the proposals, yes, I heard that you're supposed to put them directly on the website - IIRC you can edit them later if you want. You might also forward it here if you're interested in some opinions, but keep in mind that feedback isn't really guaranteed. Yours, Jacek Wielemborek
