Hi , That is soo exciting to hear!. Ill be eagerly waiting for your talk. Till then Ill have hands on with the nmap tool and see what features of IPv6 can be creativily used in Nmap tool. Also planning to go through IPv6 fingerprinting in detail and try to make a report on the same.Is there any particular language we are confined to, in order implement our Ideas,so that I will be acquainted with it till then. Any suggestions on how I shall proceed further will be welcomed. Cheers! Sriharsha On Thu, Mar 6, 2014 at 3:12 AM, Mathias Morbitzer <m.morbitzer () runbox com> wrote:
HI Sriharsha, On the 17th of March, I will be giving a talk at the Troopers14 conference called "Remote OS detection in IPv6", in which I will give some ideas I had for performing OS fingerprinting with the new possibilities we have in IPv6. It would be great to see some of those ending up in Nmap. Since I wanted to implement some things anyway, maybe we can have a discussion after the conference to see which ideas would be useful to be implemented and which would not. I don't know when I will have the time to do the implementation, so it is nice to hear that we might be able to team up. I will send my slides after the talk, since I do not want to spoil the fun for the attendees ;) (and because they are not finished yet) Cheers, Mathias On Wed, 5 Mar 2014 02:41:29 +0530, Sriharsha Karamchati <leo.harsha93 () gmail com> wrote:Hi All, I am Sriharsha, Computer Science student at "International Institute of Information Technology. I am an IPv6 enthusiast .Have done projects on IPv6 packet classification, Quality Of services in IPv6. I've been looking the ideas page [https://secwiki.org/w/GSoC_community_ideas#New_IPv6_OS_scan_features] this year, IPv6 OS scan features caught my attention. Thereby I read the OS probing (in IPv4 ) and also the IPv6 Fingerprinting in "nmap.org/book/" and also have gone through the code : [https://svn.nmap.org/nmap-exp/luis/ipv6tests/vectorize.py]. I am interested in adding new IPv6 probes. Any feedback/guidelines/Suggestions on this idea are welcome! I will send my reports on the study I have done so far on IPv6 soon. Cheers!
