List,

Passing along some mention of bugs from #metasploit on freenode
today. I don't have access to OSX or Fusion to test this, but I
didn't want it to go unnoticed.
(02:21:50 PM) bonsaiviking: pbi, add Nmap to the list of projects
that appreciate bug reports.
(02:22:10 PM) bonsaiviking: Of course, they always look better
when they include a patch :)
(02:22:38 PM) ar1s: I introduced 18 people to nmap this pm
(02:23:09 PM) ar1s: 4 people has the same bug as I do, nmap
completely broken on osx + ipv6
(02:27:28 PM) todb: burlyscudd ^^ feel free to insert nmap +
fusion rant here
(02:28:05 PM) burlyscudd: ar1s: not to mention that they just
released a major version that didn't fix this
(02:28:18 PM) burlyscudd: their virtual network adapters won't let
you enumerate TCP at all afaik
(02:28:30 PM) burlyscudd: nmap tcp scan total fail on Fusion
(02:29:34 PM) jcran: 6.01 seems to be working here, have a test case?
(02:32:41 PM) ar1s: jcran: install nmap 6.01 from .dmg on osx,
type sudo -sS fe80::1234:56ff:fe78:8abc%en0, watch bug
(02:32:51 PM) ar1s: oops
(02:33:13 PM) ar1s: insert nmap after sudo :) this training really
gave me an headache
(02:34:16 PM) ar1s: well, at least syn scan is working now on
linux and I knew about the workaround (-sT)

I think this is a known bug, though I can't find the report right now. I
think Patrik Karlsson has experienced it in the past. A workaround might
be to add "-e en0" to the command line.
