2012/9/12 Christopher Clements <christopher.a.clements () gmail com>:
During a scan last night, nmap failed with the following error:

Socket troubles: Too many open files
Socket troubles: Too many open files
nmap: nsock_core.c:1187: nsp_add_event: Assertion `nse->iod->sd >= 0'
failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

It was a full TCP/partial UDP scan of about 70 internet hosts. Any other
information I can provide? I'm unfortunately not sure I'll be able to run
the scan again to try to replicate.

Chris

Hello,

thanks for the report. Which parameters did you use on the command
line? Do you know when (in term of scan phase) does the crash happen?

regards.
