yes i think you right ill have a think over the weekend and see if i
can update the code to use the raw packet. on a seperate note and
because you will be able to add this much quicker then me, the query
function should have an option for edns which should be a small patch

you are right ill try and adjust the script to use raw packets over
the weekend.  fyi it would be good if the standard query function had
an option to enable edns and as you  are more familiar with the code i
suspect it will be a simple change for you
