So believe it or not I made a lot of progress on this. Attached is an updated script called nregress (ngress?). This script is designed to be plopped onto a system and invoked to: - see if svn src exists, if not do a checkout - if exists, check for changes if yes - svn up - rm the previous build-src - cp src to build-src - configure the build-src for nmap only with a prefix of $dst - install to $dst then run a few tests - if told to, an archive is created in /var/tmp/nmap-platform-yyyymmddhhmm.tgz - if told to the archive file is secure copied to another location I was able to wrap this script with a ssh wrapper and bring up the vm's on demand. I will be setting up a demo webserver this weekend where temporary snapshots will reside. The mail error message will for now go to me locally as I do not wish to run an MX out of my flat :) thx, j
