Just compiled a 5.3 and seems to work , thanx :)

The code in util.c l.470 still says :

/*
 * ugly code to maintain our list of fds so we can have proper fdmax for
 * select().  really this should be generic list code, not this silly bit of
 * stupidity. -sean
 */

but anyway something else solved my problem, thanks guys.
