I suppose people could modify it, but that is not recommmended.  If
they want to use a custom services file, it is usually better for them
to put it in ~/.ncrack or specify the location with the --datadir
command-line option or the NCRACKDIR environmental variable.

By the way, my second comment (about /usr/local/share/ncrack vs
/usr/share/ncrack) refers only to the documentation.  A properly
installed Ncrack knows where its data files are, but we might want to
reference both possible locations in the documentation because people
who install Nmap in different ways may still read the docs online.

To close out this thread, I've backed out our patches and rebuilt the
package for Fedora. It has been approved. If you are interested in
helping test the package when it hits the testing repositories keep an
eye on the bugzilla ticket.
