sir, i am having some problem in using nmap, i am new user to nmap world, so please guide me in this regard, the error which i am getting is written below. i am running windows xp sp2, and i am using nmap 5.0 command line since it was not working so i even installed zenmap. i am using wireless net connection to connect to net and by wireless i don't mean 'wifi' it's wireless data card. please guide me, the detailed error is follow:
Jamal, Nmap only supports Ethernet devices and unfortunately, your wireless data card shows up as a point-to-point protocol (ppp) device. You should be able to use Nmap with some reduced functionality by adding --unprivileged like so: nmap --unprivleged -sP www.hackingmobilephones.com If you end up wanting to do port scans to, you might want to explicitly add -sT too.
