I agree with you and think this proposal makes a lot of sense. There 
could be a "dependencies" tag in the script file (like there is now an 
"id" tag) that is parsed by Nmap and checked for on the application 
level. When you launch it without the dependency it notifies you instead 
of staying silent and tells you where to find the dependency on the web. 
That way the user doesn't have to look into each script and search for 
the problem.
