No, I don't know what version, it's probably online somewhere. I bet
MacPorts would be recent enough. I don't think we should use these
functions if they aren't in the very latest Mac OS X + Xcode, that will
be a big inconvenience for anyone compiling on a Mac.

SVN trunk doesn't build for me using either 10.5.5's openssl or Fink's openssl 0.9.7m, but does build with Fink's 0.9.8h.
