%R is the same as "%H:%M", and %r is "%H%M".  I guess I linked to the 
wrong email; another one in that thread was me posting an updated patch 
which included %R and %r.  Sorry about that ;)

I just did a little googling, and it turns out that neither Windows nor 
Mac OS X like colons in filenames.  I'm switching %T and %R as per my 
last email.
