RE: Can't find OS db file: Maybe a larger problem?

I downloaded it from that location ... Thanks

I thought the release was repackaged with that file included, but apparently
that's not the case.

In other words, I thought alpha3 had that file in it.

Anyways, it seems to be working now.

Take care,
Sina

There was once an alpha3 release which doesn't contain the db file.
You can also download the db file at
http://www.insecure.org/nmap/data/nmap-os-db and put it in the path nmap
showes.

Thx for the catch. This is due to a mistake in nmap.cc.
You can download the latest nmap which contains the nmap-os-db file
and nmap would not show the message.
The mistake will be fixed in the next release.

Hi all,

Running: Nmap version 4.20ALPHA3

If I do absolutely anything with nmap like a syn scan, tcp scan ...
Whatever

It thinks I'm trying to do an OS scan and asks for the OS db file.

Even if I do something nonsensical like this:

nmap -vv

Or something that makes some sense, like this:

nmap host -vv

Any ideas?

Take care,
Sina
