Hi all, When we run nmap scan(OS scan) for a Dual-OS system,it should give only two OS details. But in my case it is showing comma separeted list of 3 operating systems. But I know that the system is dual-OS one, with Fedora and SuSe.Why it is showing like that? This is the output i am getting: [uday_kunta@hydhtc47490 ~]$ nmap -O 172.21.130.81 Starting nmap 3.81 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2006-04-21 14:06 IST Interesting ports on 172.21.130.81: (The 1644 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: closed) PORT STATE SERVICE 21/tcp open ftp 22/tcp open ssh 23/tcp open telnet 80/tcp open http Device type: general purpose Running: Linux 2.4.X|2.5.X|2.6.X OS details: Linux 2.4.0 - 2.5.20, Linux 2.5.25 - 2.6.3 or Gentoo 1.2 Linux 2.4.19 rc1-rc7), Linux 2.6.3 - 2.6.8 Nmap finished: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 2.185 seconds ---------------------- How can we know whether the system is dual-OS or triple-OS using nmap?
