Syn Scan Problem nmap 4.01 libpcap 9.4

I have compiled nmap 4.01 using libpcap 9.4 on SuSE 10 (both 32 and 64 
bit versions).  When I run a normal syn scan (ex: nmap -v 192.168.0.1), 
the scan either gets through a few ports and stops responding, or never 
responds.  If I run a tcp scan (ex: nmap -v -sT 192.168.0.1), it runs to 
completion without a problem.  If I compile it with the included libpcap 
(9.2), there are no problems.  Version 3.95 did not have this problem.
