I have just released (to you) Nmap 3.59ALPHA6. This includes a number of neat changes, such as --exclude/--excludefile support for skipping over certain sensitive or otherwise problematic hosts in a scan, and this is also the first 3.59ALPHA release to build and work on Windows with Visual Studio. Those binaries are included. Numerous other important changes were made as well.
Synscanning is seriously broken on FreeBSD. For instance... $ sudo nmap -v -d -sT -T4 -p 80,443 140.192.1.0/24 Nmap run completed -- 256 IP addresses (0 hosts up) scanned in 10.644 seconds $ nmap -sT -T4 -d -v -p 22,80 140.192.1.0/24 Nmap run completed -- 256 IP addresses (16 hosts up) scanned in 12.600 seconds Anytime we run nmap (with any option) as root, it fails. If using a normal connect() scan, version scan, etc., from an unprivileged user works without problems. --------------------------------------------------------------------- For help using this (nmap-dev) mailing list, send a blank email to nmap-dev-help () insecure org .
