nmap not working

Hi,
I have win xp sp1 and nmap seems don't work for me. I downloaded 3.50
version + wpdpack_3_1_beta. When I scan some ip/host, nmap says 'host
is down etc..', but host is really up, btw I tried it with few
servers.
