Hi,
I got the same problem with an isdn link (ippp0). I think it's pcap bug,
I'll look at the code and try to fix it.

Hi !

just upgraded to nmap 2.54BETA27 ... and now doesn't work onto a ppp link!
If I scan the localhost or other hosts onto my lan, is all ok,
but if I scan somehost via my ppp link, I got this error :

"FATAL: Unknown datalink type (12). Caplen: 0; Packet:"

previous versions (except the last before this) worked ok.

what can it be?

I'm running RH 7.0, kernel 2.2.18 , nmap 2-54BETA27 rpm from insecure.org
