Nmap 2003 Triennial User Survey -- Please Respond

Hello Everyone,

Long time Nmap users may remember the highly successful Summer 2000
survey. It was only offered to nmap-hackers (not on the web pages or
other lists) and over 1,200 of you responded! Many people left
insightful comments, and feature priorities were reshuffled based on
your feedback. IPID scanning is just one feature that was added as a
direct result of the survey. This new survey lets you rank 22
features I am considering -- or you can submit your own!

You guys obviously have good taste in security tools :), and so your
2000 recommendations were used to create the "Top 50 List" at
http://www.insecure.org/tools.html . Even after 3-years, enough
people find it valuable that it gets over 1000 hits per day. But it
REALLY needs this update! There are tons of new and heavily improved
tools which deserve more publicity. This year I also added a "top
sites" list where you can nominate up to 8 security sites that you
find useful or insightful. Insecure.Org sites and tools (such as
Nmap) are ineligible.

Without further ado, here is the survey:

Please fill it out while it is in your mind and share any comments. I
got a lot of insightful ideas last time! The goal for this year will
be 1500 responses. The sooner that happens, the sooner I can close
the survey and tabulate the results. The full results will be mailed
to nmap-hackers. Comments will only be posted if they are
particularly interesting/relevant and it is clear that they are for
public consumption. Demographic info will be kept private and only
reported in aggregate.

Thanks,
Fyodor
