About NMAP modules

Hello:

Im thinking about developing some modules for nmap, to provide
administrative tools to do things as
inject data into SQL databases, publish log results as HTML( really php3
) etc. etc.

I was wondering if there's some kind of API or a clean( and correct )
way to interfaz against NMAP...
