The average consumer wants a "internet connection". They don't

What will happen is that as CGN starts to break things for people

ask for IPv6.

The use case is a user that got a CGN solution plus IPv6. He wants to view
images from his home surveillance camera, so that he can tell that the cat
is still doing ok. His friends tells him to do a port forward, but that is
not possible due to the CGN. Then he reads on NANOG that since he has IPv6
he can just connect to the camera with that.

Except few to none cameras come with IPv6.

This is the sad state of things currently :-(.
