This is as close as the IETF has come to a document. http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-dnsop-reverse-mapping-considerations-06That document has been expired for 3 years, meaning, no one has updated it, no one has tried to get a steering committee broad review (IESG approval), etc.
