Come on.  Acquiring a company is now considered evil?
Of course there are repercussions to any acquisition.
Many companies however have been acquired by Google and are not evil at all.
Many companies retain their independence after being acquired.
I have enjoyed Google's services for years and never once considered them evil.
Everyone should enjoy the fruits of their labor and the services they provide.
