... the effect of causing the subscribers to reconfigure their mailers to stop querying the now-dead RBL in question. what's the current thinking on this?one problem with this is that the pain is not felt by the misconfigured folk, but by distant innocents.
i am one of those who believes that e-mail is a shared benefit. so in my worldview, both the intended recipients and actual senders would feel pain. (bulk e-mail disproportionately benefits the sender, but i'm thinking 1x1 e-mail in this thought experiment.)
