Of course. Something needs to try and stop the flood of viruses hitting the PCs on the LAN.

Symantec AV for the Mac is a great product in cross-platform environments and can prevent Windows viruses from accidentally being copied to a network volume or from being forwarded on via email.

Macs are quite capable of integrating into a Windows network. Users can access their Macs via SMB. A Mac can still download a virus, but it's not going to affect it. It *can* affect the PC connecting to the share.

It's just another line of defense, really..
