NM fire experience and NANOG BOF?

Since NANOG is happening just a few weeks after the Los Alamos fires,
I would be interested in any lessons we can learn from the NMISPs.
Could any preparation have been done, or is necessity the mother of
invention?  Was it a unique convergence of events and talents unlikely
to be repeated.
