g.gtld-servers.net (198.41.3.101) will be added as an authoritative server

Does this also mean, that there should be a new 'root-zone' that lists the
new gtld-servers explicitly, instead the 'old' x.ROOT-SERVERS.NET ?

G.root-servers.net will continue to answer for the gov, mil, arpa,
in-addr.arpa and root zones.

That in contrast does not imply a change in the root-zone.
