Felix Tang sez:
Anyone have experiences with vented vs. non-vented cells when building out your DC plant?
Unless I misunderstand your meaning, I gather you mean cells that vent to the room air vice out a vent pipe? A battery room damn well have 100% separate ventilation; you don't want either the hydrogen fumes or acid near your expen$ive cisco's and TNT's... Also, such a room should have draconian restricted access rules. Besides the obvious acid-in-eyes issues; drop a screwdriver or wrench across a 2v 500Ah cell and it will turn bright orange really fast and thne start throwing molten metal. Now think about a watch band doing that...... As I said, the costs of a real 48v DC plant add up fast. -- A host is a host from coast to coast.................wb8foz () nrk com & no one will talk to a host that's close........[v].(301) 56-LINUX Unless the host (that isn't close).........................pob 1433 is busy, hung or dead....................................20915-1433
