ability to execute msfconsole being inside msfconsole

Hi Guys,
Just notice that it is possible to execute msfconsole command being inside
the msfconsole. instead ignore that command and return, it actually execute
the command and run metasploit again. is this something left intentionally
to aid with some other feature or is this a bug?
