include my own bin in metasploit exploits

Assuming I've created my own binary something like notepad.exe and I 
wish to include THAT code in a metasploit payload/module.

Let's  say I'd like to execute that binary in the 
windows/fileformat/adobe_pdf_embedded_exe or any of the other fileformat 
modules.

I can't remember where I read how to take your own .exe, break it down 
into raw output, then insert that into the module.

But I know it can be done.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.
