Framework History

Hi Guys

i'm currently participating in an open source project focusing on the
Metasploit framework and was wondering if there is any place where i can
obtain more of a general background on the history of the MSF. No names no
personal stuff just key facts that i can include in my project can anybody
point me in a direction where i can find out any more information on this
topic or give me any information that might assist me Thanks in advance.
