Yes, but I removed my anti-virus software and the problem is still
occurring, in theory, with a new install, shouldn't those files also be
re-installed?
Cheers,

Hi all,

I recently downloaded Metasploit 3.2 onto a laptop running Windows Vista.
It
works fine, but when I try to perform an online update, I encounter this
error message:

 Reduced: 99% of original size [ 644 x 102 ] - Click to view full image

Now, I'm not really sure how to go about fixing this problem. Are there any
alternative methods I could use to update the Metasploit Framework?

Also, this is the second time I've installed Metasploit. The first time,
the
file that was needed to update the Metasploit Framework was deleted by
Symantec Antivirus. I then proceeded to uninstall Symantec Antivirus, and
then reinstalled the Metasploit Framework. But as I have already mentioned,
I've encountered the error again.

Any help will be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Usually this is caused by AV removing part of the SVN repository.
I'm not sure what could cause this problem but seems that svn sources
were corrupted somehow.

(you should have svn.exe in your PATH, ie: c:\windows\system32 =>
http://subversion.tigris.org/getting.html#windows )
(actually it is in C:\Program Files\Metasploit\Framework3\tools )

You can try:
svn cleanup

Try deleting the %appdata%\msf3 folder, then creating a new one and
re-checkout of the SVN repository to grab the latest version from the
SVN trunk. On the command line:
mkdir msf3
cd msf3
svn co http://metasploit.com/svn/framework3/trunk/

MSFXDC (MetaSploit Framework eXploits Development Contest) is a
challenge where the main goal is to code the largest number of new
Metasploit Framework exploits modules.

First received exploits modules are online at
https://www.securinfos.info/metasploit/msfxdc.php

Complete your Metasploit Framework exploits collection :-)

Suspense is open to know...
Who will become the Metasploit Framework exploits writer of the month?

whoops, i just realized I sent my replies to my other thread to Jerome,
personally, sorry about that!
Anyway, if you read my other thread you'll know what I am having trouble
with.

I need clearer instructions to get the online update working, or an
alternative to the SVN update, because i am kinda new to svn.

Cheers,

That error happens when another tool or service deletes files needed by
